Cognita, a leading global schools group, is thrilled to announce the addition of Al Ain English Speaking School (AAESS) to its international network, marking a significant expansion in the UAE. This development represents Cognita’s first school in Al Ain and further strengthens its footprint in the Middle East.

    New Milestone for Cognita

Established in 1978, AAESS has long been a cornerstone of academic excellence in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. With a student body of 2,000 and a staff of 250, AAESS has been instrumental in providing a top-tier education from Nursery through to Sixth Form. The integration of AAESS into Cognita’s global family adds to its network of over 100 schools across 16 countries, which together educate more than 90,000 students.

    Growing Regional Presence

Cognita’s presence in the Middle East has grown to nine schools, with established institutions across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Kuwait. The addition of AAESS not only broadens Cognita’s regional presence but also reinforces its commitment to delivering exceptional educational experiences.

    A Legacy of Excellence

AAESS has evolved from its modest beginnings in a local villa to a state-of-the-art campus. Known for its British-based curriculum, the school is dedicated to producing academically accomplished and globally aware students. The school environment is designed to foster growth, mutual respect, cooperation, and a love for learning, aligning perfectly with Cognita’s educational ethos.

    Leadership and Vision

David Baldwin, Chief Executive Officer for Cognita in the Middle East, brings over a decade of experience in global education and governance. His leadership will be crucial in ensuring that AAESS benefits from Cognita’s extensive resources and expertise. Baldwin noted, “We are thrilled to incorporate Al Ain English Speaking School into our international network. This milestone signifies our commitment to delivering world-class education and empowering our students, staff, and families.”

    Exciting New Chapter

Mr. Mohammed Al Ghussein, Chairman of AAESS, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are excited to join Cognita’s global family. This collaboration enriches our educational journey and aligns with our mission to prepare students for success in a rapidly evolving world. As we approach our 50th anniversary, being part of Cognita is a testament to our dedication to providing exceptional education.”

    Enhanced Educational Opportunities

Joining Cognita offers AAESS educators and students access to a wealth of knowledge and best practices from around the world. The school will benefit from advanced training programmes developed in partnership with the Institute of Education at University College London, ensuring continuous professional development and enhanced educational outcomes.

The integration of Al Ain English Speaking School into Cognita’s network marks a pivotal moment in the group’s expansion strategy. This partnership not only extends Cognita’s reach but also enriches its global community, reinforcing its commitment to educational excellence and innovation.
