Chakow’s Mission to Flush Out UK’s Toilet Paper Habit

    Graham ParkerBy Graham Parker31/10/2024Updated:31/10/2024

Chakow, the UK’s first dedicated bidet supplier, proudly introduces an innovative bidet attachment to the UK market, aiming to transform the nation’s bathroom habits. This new product is more than a bathroom fixture; it represents a movement toward sustainability and hygiene. Designed for easy installation without the need for a plumber, the Chakow bidet attachment brings an eco-friendly, cost-effective alternative to toilet paper into British homes, potentially paving the way for a greener, cleaner future.

The UK ranks among the top consumers of toilet paper worldwide, with bathroom tissue often used only once and then discarded. Unlike other regions, such as parts of Europe and Asia, where bidets are a common bathroom fixture, the UK has long relied on traditional toilet paper. However, with the growing awareness around sustainability and a collective desire to make environmentally responsible choices, Chakow believes that the UK is ready for change. The Chakow bidet attachment offers a user-friendly way to make this transition, requiring less than ten minutes to install on existing toilets.

A Sustainable Solution to a Major Environmental Concern

Toilet paper’s environmental impact is substantial. As a single-use product, its production requires a significant amount of resources. Millions of trees are felled each year to supply the demand for this product, and even with advancements in recycling, the carbon footprint of toilet paper remains high. ‘Luxury’ alternatives, like wet wipes, only exacerbate the problem, often ending up in landfills and clogging waterways.

Switching to a bidet reduces this environmental burden. According to Chakow, if just 10,000 UK households used a bidet for a year, it would save carbon emissions equivalent to a family car circling the globe 861 times. Additionally, bidet usage conserves water: while a single roll of toilet paper takes about 47 gallons to manufacture, each bidet flush uses only a cup of water. With these statistics, Chakow’s bidet attachment represents a small but impactful step in reducing the environmental impact of daily bathroom routines.

    Cost-Effective Hygiene

The shift from toilet paper to bidet use also brings financial benefits. Traditional bathroom habits rely on a steady supply of toilet paper, an expense that adds up over time. Chakow’s bidet attachment requires a one-time investment, after which users can expect significant savings from reduced dependence on loo roll. Founder Bikke Chettri remarks, “Changing from toilet paper to bidets is less about a drastic lifestyle overhaul and more about making mindful, eco-friendly adjustments to daily life. We’ve designed our product with simplicity and sustainability in mind, aiming to help British households make a shift that’s easy on both the planet and the wallet.”

    Chakow Bidet Features

    • Elegant, Modern Design: The bidet attachment features knobs crafted from a single billet of aluminium, adding a touch of sophistication to any bathroom.
    • Simple Installation: With no need for electricity or a plumber, users can set up the device in less than 10 minutes.
    • Resource-Conscious: Uses existing water supply from the toilet cistern, with an option for warm water through home heating systems.
    • Commitment to Customer Support: Chakow’s customer service team is readily available to guide users through installation and use.
    • Proudly Designed in the UK: Built by a British team dedicated to changing national habits for a sustainable future.

An Eco-Friendly Future, One Flush at a Time

Chakow envisions a future where bidets become a standard feature in UK bathrooms, marking a shift toward more sustainable and hygienic practices. The bidet attachment aligns with the changing values of today’s environmentally conscious consumer, offering a small but meaningful step towards sustainable living. As more UK households explore alternatives to single-use bathroom products, Chakow stands ready to lead the way with an eco-friendly, user-friendly solution that benefits both families and the planet.
