TRG Expands into Latin America with Boreal 4.0 Acquisition

    Sam AllcockBy Sam Allcock22/10/2024

TRG, a global leader in managed services, has announced its latest expansion through the acquisition of Boreal 4.0, a prominent automation company specializing in AIDC (Automatic Identification and Data Capture) technologies in Latin America. This acquisition marks TRG’s entry into the Latin American market and strengthens its automation and robotics capabilities.

Sean Kennedy, President and CEO of TRG, stated, “Boreal 4.0 has long been recognized as an innovative force in the Latin American market. By combining our expertise, we’re positioning ourselves to lead the global market in managed services and cutting-edge automation solutions.”

Expansion into Key Latin American Markets

As part of the acquisition, TRG will inherit four of Boreal 4.0’s key operational hubs in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico. The transition will also see 40 employees join TRG’s workforce. This move not only reinforces TRG’s growing international presence, but it also extends its support to clients across three continents and nine countries, with a combined team of over 500 employees operating out of 12 facilities globally.

Roberto Fuhr, CEO of Boreal 4.0, commented, “Joining TRG is an exciting step for our team and customers. Boreal 4.0 is known for its innovative approach to robotics and automation, and now, with TRG’s global reach and resources, we can offer a more comprehensive suite of managed services.”

    Strengthening Automation and Robotics Leadership

Earlier this year, TRG appointed Gregg Gough as Director of Automation to drive the company’s innovation in robotics and automation. Gough, who previously worked at Honeywell Intelligrated, a leading provider of intelligent material handling solutions, brings deep expertise in automation strategy and design. He will collaborate closely with Boreal 4.0’s team to ensure seamless integration of robotics solutions across TRG’s global operations.

Kennedy stated, “With Gregg’s leadership in automation and the expertise of our new team members from Boreal 4.0, we are set to elevate our solutions to even greater levels of innovation. This acquisition allows us to leap forward in our innovation journey, bringing advanced robotics to new markets.

    Accelerating Global Growth

The Boreal 4.0 acquisition is the latest in a series of strategic moves by TRG, following two other major acquisitions over the past two years aimed at expanding its global reach. The company recently merged with its sister firm, Inversion6, forming a specialised cybersecurity division within TRG. With these expansions, TRG has more than doubled its team size and significantly enhanced its service offerings.

Kennedy emphasized, “Our swift expansion reflects our dedication to maintaining a competitive edge.  Integrating Boreal 4.0 is not just about broadening our footprint, it’s about combining our cultures and capabilities to deliver more value for our global customers. We are looking forward to exploring the synergies that will emerge as we collaborate.

With its recent expansion into Latin America and a continuously expanding service portfolio, TRG is further cementing its status as a global leader in managed services, automation, and cybersecurity solutions.
