The HBP Group Takes on Scafell Pike for Hull 4 Heroes

In a remarkable display of determination and community spirit, 20 employees from The HBP Group undertook a formidable challenge, climbing England’s tallest peak, Scafell Pike, in aid of their corporate charity partner, Hull 4 Heroes. The team successfully completed the gruelling hike, raising more than £5,000 for the Hull-based charity, which is dedicated to helping veterans transition back into civilian life.

A Team Effort for a Worthy Cause

Led by The HBP Group’s CEO, Joanne Partridge, alongside Chief Service Delivery Officer Tony Pearson and Chief Commercial Officer George Smith, the team took on the demanding nine-hour trek. The participants faced harsh terrain and unpredictable weather conditions but maintained high morale throughout the journey, thanks to a shared sense of camaraderie and purpose.

Reflecting on the achievement, Joanne Partridge expressed her pride in the team’s dedication to the cause. “I couldn’t be prouder of our team for not only taking on this incredible challenge but doing it with such determination and positivity. Climbing Scafell Pike is no easy task, and to do it for such an important cause as Hull 4 Heroes truly reflects the compassion and commitment of our staff. Their hard work has made a real impact, and I was genuinely inspired by their collective spirit.”

    A Long-Standing Partnership with Hull 4 Heroes

The HBP Group officially launched its partnership with Hull 4 Heroes in April 2024, marking the start of a collaborative effort to support veterans across the UK. With many employees having military backgrounds or close ties to those who have served in the armed forces, the cause holds particular significance within the company.

Since the beginning of the partnership, The HBP Group has hosted various fundraising activities, from raffles to quiz nights, which have helped bring in valuable donations. However, the Scafell Pike hike was the company’s flagship event for 2024, serving as both a physical and symbolic representation of the company’s commitment to helping veterans rebuild their lives after service.

Supporting Veterans Through Hull 4 Heroes’ Initiatives

Hull 4 Heroes is a charitable organisation that assists veterans as they navigate the challenging transition from military service to civilian life. The charity offers a wide range of support, including the provision of housing, education, and employment opportunities, to ensure that veterans are well-equipped to reintegrate into society.

The funds raised by The HBP Group will directly support Hull 4 Heroes’ ongoing projects. These include creating homes for veterans, offering training programmes to improve employability, and providing comprehensive support for those struggling to adapt to life outside of the military. With a growing network of supporters, Hull 4 Heroes remains committed to its mission of ensuring that every veteran receives the assistance they need to thrive in their post-service careers.

    More Initiatives Planned

Following the success of the Scafell Pike climb, The HBP Group has announced plans for future initiatives aimed at further supporting Hull 4 Heroes. With the company’s strong connection to the cause, both leadership and staff are dedicated to continuing their efforts to make a lasting difference in the lives of veterans.
