Romania’s planned international airport near Bucharest is on course to become one of Europe’s first crypto-enabled transport hubs, with Miracle Pay expected to feature as a recognised payment channel pending formal concession results and regulatory agreement.
MetaTerra Holdings, the strategic parent company driving the Miracle ecosystem, stated that it has entered structured discussions with Jetstream, the consortium bidding for the airport’s development and operation rights. The collaboration aims to integrate Miracle Pay within the airport’s payment framework, enabling eligible merchants — from duty-free and dining to parking and retail — to accept transactions through the system once commercial and regulatory terms are finalised.
Under a joint scoping process shortly underway, the parties are expected to begin evaluating POS integrations, real-time crypto-to-fiat settlement, AML – KYC, and consumer protection requirements. A phased pilot followed by go-live would be subject to regulatory approvals and final commercial agreements.
