E.ON Next Lights Up Christmas with Free Power Deal

    Sam AllcockBy Sam Allcock19/11/2024

A Festive Bonus for E.ON Next Customers

E.ON Next has announced an unprecedented festive season offer, its largest electricity giveaway to date, for both new and existing customers. Those who sign up for the Next Reward Days 12-month Fixed tariff by 3 December 2024 will enjoy three days of free electricity on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day (24–26 December). This includes waiving standing charges for the three days, making the holiday season brighter for many households.

    How the Offer Works

This unique initiative, dubbed the Free Electricity Days campaign, eliminates charges for electricity usage during the designated days. Unlike traditional promotions that credit estimated costs, E.ON Next will apply a zero-cost rate directly, ensuring that eligible customers pay absolutely nothing for their energy during this period.

To participate, customers must meet a few requirements:

    • Smart Meter: Customers must have a smart meter connected to E.ON Next’s network to enable accurate usage tracking.
    • Online Account and Direct Debit: These are mandatory to qualify for the offer.
    • Early Termination Fee: A £50 fee per fuel will apply for those who terminate their tariff early.

    Protecting Customers from Rising Costs

By selecting the Next Reward Days 12-month Fixed tariff, customers can lock in their energy rate for the year ahead. This move protects them from potential price increases while offering peace of mind during the festive period.

    Addressing Rising Holiday Energy Needs

Electricity demand in the UK saw a 7.3% rise in early December 2023, driven by festive preparations and widespread Christmas light displays, as reported by the National Grid. Recognising this trend, E.ON Next’s offer aims to alleviate concerns over energy costs at a time when households traditionally consume more electricity.

A Message from E.ON Next Leadership

Julian Lennertz, Chief Commercial Officer at E.ON Next, expressed the company’s commitment to supporting customers during the holidays:

“As the festive season draws near, we recognise that many families might feel the strain of managing expenses.”  Our Free Electricity Days initiative ensures customers can enjoy their celebrations without worrying about energy bills during these key days. This marks the first time E.ON Next has offered three consecutive days of free electricity, and we’re thrilled to bring this to our customers during such a special time of year.

Benefits of the Next Reward Days Tariff

Customers who choose the 12-month Fixed tariff not only gain access to this limited-time festive offer but also enjoy:

    • Protection against future energy price hikes.
    • Enhanced transparency and control with smart meter technology.
    • A secure, predictable energy rate for the year ahead.

    A Season of Savings

This campaign reflects E.ON Next’s commitment to providing practical solutions for its customers while fostering goodwill during the holidays. With its innovative Free Electricity Days offer, the company is lighting up homes and reducing financial strain during the most festive time of the year.
