Villeroy & Boch Receives Red Dot Award 2025 for METALCRAFT Tile Design

Design prize recognises METALCRAFT’s blend of urban style and elegance

Villeroy & Boch Tiles has been awarded the esteemed Red Dot Design Award 2025 in the ‘Product Design’ category for its METALCRAFT collection. The series captures the spirit of industrial design with refined sophistication — reinforcing the brand’s creative leadership on a global scale.

    Metallic surfaces with artistic dimension

Designed to reflect the raw character of metal while remaining stylishly adaptable, the METALCRAFT range brings visual depth to interiors. “With expressive colours such as silver, steel, brown, black and accent tones in copper, brass and petrol, it creates an interplay of light and shadow, shine and mattness, impulsiveness and calm. Depending on the lighting situation, the look alternates between understatement and opulence – always high-quality, always full of character.”

Its extensive format choices — from large wall tiles to versatile floor options — ensure flexible design solutions. Enhanced with VilbostonePlus and CeramicPlus surfaces and rated R10 for slip resistance, it also delivers on durability and easy maintenance.

Judged by experts across 21 countries

The Red Dot Design Award has symbolised design quality since 1955. In its 2025 edition, a panel of 43 independent jurors from around the world reviewed entries from over 60 countries. “The METALCRAFT series from Villeroy & Boch Tiles impressed with its exceptional design quality in this demanding assessment and was honoured with the coveted award.”
