The 2024 “Unique Landscape in Jiangxi” Cultural and Tourism Promotion Month officially launched in the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions (SAR) on September 3. The event began with a vibrant ceremony and promotional activities in Hong Kong SAR, followed by a similar event in Macao SAR on September 5. These events showcased Jiangxi’s rich tourism offerings, including stunning natural landscapes, ceramic artistry, Hakka heritage, and more.

Event Launch
At the launch event, Jiangxi’s cultural vibrancy was highlighted through captivating artistic performances, bringing to life the unique aspects of Jiangxi’s heritage. To further entice visitors, special promotional offers were rolled out, including the “Dragon Travels – Happy Tour in Jiangxi” campaign, which offers free entry to scenic spots for those born in the Year of the Dragon during their birthday month. Additionally, nearly 140 deals were announced from 110 attractions, alongside 33 curated packages from 17 five-star hotels in Jiangxi, aimed specifically at Hong Kong and Macao tourists.
In her speech, Mei Yi, Director General of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, highlighted the growing importance of tourism cooperation between Jiangxi, Hong Kong, and Macao. She noted that the three regions have achieved significant collaboration in cultural exchange and heritage preservation. This promotional month seeks to enhance Jiangxi’s cultural and tourism profile in both SARs, encouraging further exchanges and boosting tourism industry partnerships across the regions.
Li Dahong, Chairman of the Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group and member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, emphasised the increasing connection between Jiangxi and Hong Kong as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area develops. He remarked that many Hong Kong tourists are drawn to the diverse culture and landscapes of Jiangxi, and believed the promotional event would further facilitate cooperation, creating mutual benefits for both regions.
Significant Step in Ongoing Cultural Exchange.
During the event, the “Unique Landscape in Jiangxi” Culture and Tourism Promotion Center for Hong Kong and Macao was inaugurated, marking a significant step in ongoing cultural exchange. Key travel agencies from Jiangxi and China Travel Service (Hong Kong) Limited also signed cooperation agreements, strengthening tourism links.
In Macao, the event showcased Jiangxi’s diverse tourism assets, including its revolutionary history, eco-tourism, and ancient cultures. Four themed study tour routes were introduced, offering visitors an immersive journey through Jiangxi’s unique landscapes and cultural heritage. In support of the initiative, Jiangxi launched a series of preferential policies, such as discounted admission and accommodation, making the province even more attractive to tourists.
Deputy Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office, Hsu Yiu-ming, praised the long-standing tourism ties between Jiangxi and Macao. He expressed optimism that the promotional month would deepen cooperation and encourage new tourism opportunities. Chen Jimin, President of the Macao Jiangxi Association, also highlighted the potential for further collaboration in cultural tourism, scientific research, and youth engagement.
