Binggrae Brings Melona Ice Bars to SIAL Paris 2024

Binggrae, a premier name in South Korea’s food industry, is excited to announce its participation in SIAL Paris 2024, showcasing its beloved Melona ice bars. This event marks a significant step in Binggrae’s mission to expand its presence in the European market, introducing a taste of Korea to new consumers.

A Legacy of Flavor and Quality

Founded in 1967, Binggrae has built a reputation for delivering high-quality products that resonate with consumers. Known for its iconic Banana Flavored Milk and the innovative Yoplait yogurt, the company has established itself as a household name in South Korea. The Melona ice bar, known for its delightful flavors and smooth consistency, exemplifies Binggrae’s dedication to offering enjoyable frozen desserts.

SIAL Paris 2024: A Platform for Global Engagement

From October 19 to 23, Binggrae will exhibit at SIAL Paris 2024, where the company will present its Melona ice bars to an international audience. This exhibition serves as a prime opportunity to connect with industry leaders and engage directly with consumers. “We are thrilled to introduce Melona at SIAL Paris, where we hope to share our passion for high-quality ice bars with European consumers,” said a company representative.

    Success in the European Market

Binggrae began its European journey by exporting Melona to countries such as France, Germany, the U.K., and the Netherlands last year. The product has seen remarkable success, particularly in the Netherlands, where it has been featured prominently in Albert Heijn, a leading grocery chain. The first half of this year has shown impressive growth, with sales tripling compared to the same period last year, highlighting Melona’s strong appeal across various demographics.

    Building on a Global Foundation

Binggrae’s history with Melona dates back to 1995, when it first targeted the Korean diaspora in Hawaii. In 2016, the establishment of a subsidiary in San Francisco allowed the company to enhance its marketing efforts in the United States. Today, Melona is a staple in major retailers like Costco, dominating 70% of the U.S. market for Korean ice bars. The company has also expanded its reach to China and Vietnam, where its products are becoming increasingly popular.

    Local Flavors for Diverse Tastes

Binggrae takes pride in offering a range of flavors tailored to local preferences, including exciting options such as mango and coconut. This adaptability has allowed Melona to capture hearts and taste buds in North America and Southeast Asia, where it is now exported to over 30 countries.

    A Vision for Global Recognition

“Melona is not just an ice bar; it’s a representation of Korean culture and flavors that we wish to share with the world,” stated a Binggrae official. Looking to the future, the company is eager to expand its product lineup in Europe and establish Melona as a global icon in the ice cream market.

As Binggrae forges ahead, the company remains dedicated to innovation and excellence, ensuring that its products continue to meet the evolving tastes of consumers while bringing the unique flavors of Korea to an ever-expanding audience.
